Horsing around with RSA
Posted by lauren, July 6 2010 at 15:40There’s nothing like dressing up in a furry pantomime horse outfit on blazing summers day (27 degrees no-less) and galloping your way around racecourse to show some support to your client. So off we trotted to Goodwood, for RSA’s third annual Panto Horse Derby.
Our pantomime horse, aptly named Bruce Horsyth was a natural born showman, who foxtrotted his way around the course with a spring in his step and twinkle in his eye.
But unlike the real Bruce Forsyth, our horse had two left feet and we were beaten in the Dance-off, or rather the ‘Interbrand Best in Show’ by some stiff competition from fellow panto horses Volcanic Dash, Russell-off-brand and Lady Gee Gee.
There were laughs a plenty as we competed in qualifying in derbies and dressage competitions where horse were given a good dressing down by Trinny Woodall. A new world record was even set along the way for the most 2 person pantomime animals in a single race at a single venue. And all of this for a superb cause as the day raised a fantastic £40,000 for Action on Addiction and Have a Heart.
