Royal Academy of Music raises the bar of digital Alumni offer
Posted by lauren, March 15 2010 at 16:15London- The Royal Academy of Music is set to propel its graduates to the online stage by launching a global portal to help them get a started in the industry as well as provide on-going support throughout their professional careers.
Over the years, the Academy has cultivated a host of celebrated world class musicians including Sir Elton John, Annie Lennox and Katherine Jenkins. Alumni looking to follow in their footsteps can leverage the dedicated portal to showcase their talents, get found by orchestras or groups looking for musicians, publicise their own ensembles or simply mentor other alumni to inspire the next generation of musicians.
Pancentric Digital, the appointed agency for the portal’s design and build, are confident the site will assist former Royal Academy of Music students looking to break into the competitive musical space. “The portal provides a stepping stone for all aspiring musicians or music lovers to absorb themselves in the industry- using the site is a good way to raise their visibility and get noticed,” says Tim Corden, Account Director, Pancentric Digital. “Each alumni will be assigned their own profile page which supports content such as video footage from performances, and comes with its own unique URL making it individually indexable by the search engines – it’s a platform that really adds another string to their bow.”
The site will focus on increasing touchpoints with the music college’s Alumni and ensure that music remains a part of their life. “Beyond providing our students with an exceptional musical education, we aspire to add value throughout their lives and future careers,” says Steve Newell, Head of Technology, Royal Academy of Music. “The portal makes it easier than ever to link in with a far reaching powerful network of peers across the globe. The experience at the Royal Academy of Music is such that you’ll want to keep in contact with the people that shaped your time here as well as stay up to date with on the Alumni news and events.”
The launch of the portal in May will coincide with the launch of a new website, designed and build by Pancentric Digital, to replace www.ram.ac.uk.
